Introduction

  1. There are 2 parts to the process:
    1. You - the completion of the application form
    2. Staff - references, both subject and tutor, the checking processes and help that staff give

The Procedure

Once your application is completed to your satisfaction, you must then follow this procedure:

Schedule a Review Appointment with Mrs Hawkins

  1. Please see me from the beginning of September to make an appointment.
  2. During the Review I will check that you have completed all sections correctly and I will read through your personal statement, giving advice on changes and amendments where necessary. You will also have an opportunity to read your references.
  3. Once we are both happy that your application is as good as it can be – I will ask you to sign a form to confirm your agreement that your application may be sent to UCAS.

'Send to Referee' and payment

  1. You will then need to click the ‘send to referee’ button and follow the payment procedure. The fee is £24.00 for 2 to 5 choices or £18 for a single choice. Please pay on-line by card. If, for any reason, you are not able to do this then please let me know.
  2. 'Send to Referee' means that you have released your application to me – it has not yet gone to UCAS. I am the only person who can send it. But you cannot make any further alterations unless you ask me to release it back to you.

Referee Approval

  1. I will give a hard copy of your application to Mr Maddox who will review it as your official referee. Once he has done this he will also sign the form, which is his authorisation that your application can be sent to UCAS.

Send to UCAS

  1. Once I receive the application and form from Mr Maddox I will then proof read your application once more before finally sending it electronically to UCAS.
