Whilst I hope that the School can continue to run as well as it is at present, it is possible that there might have to be changes in how we operate at very short notice and circumstances might arise in which we may be required to send home one or more year-groups for a week or more. Should we have to switch to remote learning due to a full or partial closure, we will again use the Microsoft Teams platform.

Many students will already have Microsoft Teams installed on their mobile devices. In tutor times next week, students in school who have them will be shown how to use MS Teams on a smartphone. If you have access to a smartphone, please install the Microsoft Teams app on your smartphone using the appropriate link below and log in to the app in advance of tutor time on Monday morning. This process takes no more than a few minutes to complete.

Once installed, please log in using your network username, followed by the school’s domain name (E.g. User 03js11 should enter [email protected]) and then entering your normal network password when prompted. If you are logging in for the first time, you should ‘allow’ any requests to access your microphone/etc., so that you will be able to participate in live sessions in future.

Student Notices w/c 28 Sep

If you do not have a smartphone, Teams can be accessed on an Internet-connected desktop computer or laptop – guides on how to do this are available on the Sixth Form Intranet. If you encounter any difficulties with logging into Teams, please email [email protected] for assistance.

In addition to this training, guides produced in-house and video tutorials which can serve as an aide-memoire are available at any time on the Sixth Form intranet pages, if needed. As is the case with exercises such as fire evacuation drills, it is hoped that we will never need to use the Teams system in a closure situation but by investing time now, we can help you to feel well prepared so that learning without undue hindrance can continue should our circumstances change.

There will be a TEAMS broadcast for Year 12 on Thursday from myself and Mrs Hawkins.
